Oil life & reset procedures

Engine oil life system reset

Before you start

  • Reset the system whenever the engine oil is changed so that the system can calculate the next engine oil change.
  • with the engine off.

Steps

  1. Using the DIC controls on the right side of the steering wheel, display REMAINING OIL LIFE on the DIC. See Driver Information Center (DIC) 0 128. When remaining oil life is low, the CHANGE ENGINE OIL
  2. Press V on the DIC controls and hold down for a few seconds to clear the CHANGE ENGINE OIL SOON message and reset the oil life at 100%.
  3. Disconnect the electrical connector (2).
  4. Disconnect the outlet duct by loosening the air duct clamp (3).
  5. Lift the filter cover housing away from the engine air cleaner/filter housing.
  6. Pull out the filter.
  7. Inspect or replace the engine air cleaner/filter.
  8. Reverse Steps 2-5 to reinstall the filter cover housing.

You’ll know it worked: If the CHANGE ENGINE OIL SOON message is not on, the system is reset.

Where to find it

Instrument Panel Fuse Block The instrument panel fuse block is in the instrument panel, on the driver side of the vehicle.

Press in on the sides of the bin to release it from the instrument panel.
