Oil life & reset procedures

Engine oil life system reset

Before you start

with the engine off.

Steps

Turn the ignition to RUN, with the engine off.
Fully press and release the accelerator pedal slowly three times within ﬁve seconds. If the CHANGE ENGINE OIL SOON message ﬂashes, the system is reset. However, if it stays on, it did not reset. Repeat the procedure.
Turn the key to OFF.
Inspect or replace the engine air cleaner/ﬁlter.
To reinstall the cover, position the tabs through the hinges on the housing.
Push the cover tabs on top of the housing to lock the cover in place.

You’ll know it worked: If the CHANGE ENGINE OIL SOON message ﬂashes, the system is reset.
