Engine oil meeting the dexos2 specification of the proper SAE viscosity grade. ACDelco dexos2 is recommended. See Engine Oil 0 285.

Normal service schedule
Use this for ordinary driving.

Severe service schedule
Use this if you tow, idle a lot, drive short trips in the cold, or run in dust.

Oil life & reset procedures
Engine oil life system reset
Before you start
- Reset the system whenever the engine oil is changed so that the system can calculate the next engine oil change.
Steps
- Display REMAINING OIL LIFE on the DIC menu. See Driver Information Center (DIC) (Base Level and Midlevel) 0 141 or Driver Information Center (DIC) (Uplevel) 0 146.
- Press and hold V for several seconds while the Oil Life display is active to reset the Oil Life system.
- REMAINING OIL LIFE 100% will be displayed when the oil life system is successfully reset.
- If the display changes to 100%, the system is reset.
You’ll know it worked: If the display changes to 100%, the system is reset.
Use of the incorrect automatic transmission fluid may damage the vehicle, and the damage may not be covered by the vehicle warranty.
