Oil life & reset procedures
Engine oil life system reset
Before you start
- Reset the system whenever the engine oil is changed so that the system can calculate the next engine oil change.
- Turn the ignition to ON/RUN, with the engine off.
Steps
- Turn the ignition to ON/RUN, with the engine off.
- Press the vehicle information button until OIL LIFE REMAINING displays.
- Press and hold the set/reset button until “100%” is displayed. Three chimes sound and the CHANGE ENGINE OIL SOON message goes off.
- Turn the key to LOCK/OFF.
- Loosen the six housing cover (C) screws (B).
- Remove the housing cover (C) with outlet duct.
- Remove the filter (D) and any loose debris that may be found in the base (E).
- Inspect or replace the filter (D).
- Reverse Steps 2 through 6 to reinstall the housing cover and reconnect the electrical connector to the sensor.
- Reinstall the engine cover. See Engine Cover on page 10‑7.
You’ll know it worked: Three chimes sound and the CHANGE ENGINE OIL SOON message goes off.
Operating the engine with the air cleaner/filter off can cause you or others to be burned.

Engine Compartment Fuse Block
Where to find it
Engine Compartment Fuse Block The underhood fuse block is located in the engine compartment, on the passenger side of the vehicle.
Lift the cover for access to the fuse/ relay block.
Instrument Panel Fuse Block
Where to find it
Instrument Panel Fuse Block The instrument panel fuse block is located under the instrument panel on the passenger side of the vehicle.
Pull down on the cover to access the fuse block.
