Fluids & capacities
Engine Coolant
50/50 mixture of clean, drinkable water and use only DEX-COOL® Coolant. See Engine Coolant on page 5-18. Hydraulic Brake System Delco® Supreme 11 Brake Fluid or equivalent DOT-3 brake fluid. Windshield Washer Optikleen® Washer Solvent. Power Steering System GM Power Steering Fluid (GM Part No. U.S. 89021184, in Canada 89021186). Automatic Transmission DEXRON®-VI Automatic Transmission Fluid.
Turn the ignition to ON/RUN, with the engine off. The vehicle must be in P (Park) to access this display. Press the trip odometer reset stem until OIL LIFE REMAINING displays.
Press and hold the trip odometer reset stem until OIL LIFE REMAINING shows 100%. Three chimes sound and the CHANGE ENGINE OIL SOON message goes off.
Turn the key to LOCK/OFF. If the CHANGE ENGINE OIL SOON message comes back on when the vehicle is started, the engine oil life system has not reset. Repeat the procedure.
Turn the key to LOCK/OFF.
You’ll know it worked: Three chimes sound and the CHANGE ENGINE OIL SOON message goes off.
