Oil life & reset procedures
Engine oil life system reset
Before you start
- Reset the system whenever the engine oil is changed so that the system can calculate the next engine oil change.
- with the engine off.
Steps
- Using the DIC controls on the right side of the steering wheel, display REMAINING OIL LIFE on the DIC. See Driver Information Center (DIC) 0 135. When remaining oil life is low, the CHANGE ENGINE OIL SOON message will appear on the display. See Engine Oil Messages 0 144.
- Press SEL on the DIC controls and hold SEL down for a few seconds to clear the CHANGE ENGINE OIL SOON message and reset the oil life at 100%.
- Pull out the filter.
- Inspect or replace the engine air cleaner/filter.
- Reverse Steps 1-3 to reinstall the filter cover housing. { Warning
You’ll know it worked: If the CHANGE ENGINE OIL SOON message is not on, the system is reset.
Operating the engine with the air cleaner/filter off can cause you or others to be burned.
when working on the engine and do not drive with the air cleaner/filter off.
If the air cleaner/filter is off, dirt can easily get into the engine, which could damage it.

INSTRUMENT PANEL FUSE BLOCK The instrument panel fuse block is in the center console between the driver and passenger seats.
